To reduce risk in our community and practice during the pandemic, Albemarle Dermatology Associates & Signature Medical Spa ask the following:

Reschedule your appointment if you are awaiting a COVID-19 test result

Reschedule your appointment if you have any symptoms of illness

Reschedule your appointment if you are in the first 2 weeks of recovery from COVID-19

Reschedule your appointment if you have had a known exposure to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19

Receive a vaccination as soon as possible
VACCINE SAFETY FOR DERMAL FILLER PATIENTS
1. In the Moderna vaccine trial there were a total of three reactions possibly related to dermal fillers out of 15,184 recipients. There has always been the possibility of inflammatory reactions after dermal fillers even without the COVID vaccine. There does not seem to be a higher incidence of inflammatory reactions after fillers in the Moderna vaccine trial as compared with long-term safety data from years of injectable fillers in individuals who have not received the COVID vaccine.
2. All three inflammatory reactions seen after the Moderna vaccine resolved completely.
3. Dermal fillers should be administered in a dermatology or plastic surgery office by experts in injection procedures. We are able to treat any potential complications.
