Dr. Bonnie Straka is the founder and medical director of Albemarle Dermatology Associates and Signature Medical Spa. She is a board-certified dermatologist who has served medical, surgical, and aesthetic patients in Charlottesville since 1991. Dr. Straka is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Virginia Dermatology Society, the Medical Society of Virginia and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. A summa cum laude graduate of Williams College, she earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut and completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Virginia.
She is the wife of mystery novelist Andy Straka and mom to Chris, Kelci, Lily, Aimee, Noelle, and Luke. Dr. Straka is an adoption advocate, a lover of animals and a follower of Jesus Christ. She also enjoys hiking, reading, and anything chocolate.
